FISHING CONTEST RULES
Fish eligible for
the ice fishing contest must be caught in Bass Lake, during contest hours of 12:00 -3 PM on Saturday, February 23, 2008. All registered fish will be immediately released. Winning fish will be determined by weight, which will be verified by an official scale. Contestants are responsible for their own safety, actions and property at all times. Contestants and holes must be in plain view from all sides at all times. NO SHELTERS WILL BE ALLOWED. Participant tag(s) cannot be
transferred and MUST BE VISIBLE on participants. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PARTICIPANT
TAG PRESENT TO REGISTER A FISH. Any tampering with weight or
length of fish will automatically disqualify anglers from the contest. All fish entered must be brought to the judges stand immediately and alive. Dead
or frozen fish are ineligible. Judges shall have the right to verify that fish
were legally caught. The decision of the judge is final. All prizewinners may be required to take polygraph exams as part of the contest requirements. In the event deception is detected or the contestant refuses to take the exam, his/her prize will go to
a non-profit organization. Contestants are responsible for verification of weight
of fish at time of weigh in.
All fishing regulations for the St. Croix County and the State of Wisconsin will be abided by. Any fish illegally caught will be disqualified. Bass Lake WILL be patrolled by DNR Conservation Officers.
There will be a leader board located in the registration area. All efforts
will be made to keep the board up to date and accurate.

The top 50 place
prizes are determined by largest weight and time registered. In the event of
a tie, the first fish registered takes priority. Any legal fish may be entered
in the top 50. All prizes will be awarded.
Contestants will
be allowed to move to other unoccupied holes in the contest area. You are allowed
to bring as many poles as desired, but cannot use more than one pole per hole at a time.
Contestants must use holes provided and will not be allowed to leave the contest area between 12:00-3 p.m. Any participant leaving the designated area will
be disqualified.
No motorized vehicles
are allowed in the contest area other than contest officials and police personnel. Any
contestant bringing a motor vehicle within 30 yards of the
contest perimeter will be disqualified. Please notify parking
attendants if handicap parking is needed.

Contestants are required to park in the areas provided. Watch
for signs.
Each person will
be allowed to fish one hole per ticket, three holes maximum. You may register as many fish as you want, but only the heaviest
fish per contestant will qualify for a competition prize. No contestant will
be eligible for more than one competition prize.
All fish must be caught
and contestants must be present at the judge’s stand by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the contestant.
Contestants must fish
in the area designated for the contest and will be required to have their participant tag(s) visible at all times. Participant
tag checks as well as container inspections will be required. Carry-on (food/beverage) is prohibited. Food and beverage concessions will be sold by SYAA throughout the day. Thank you for your support.
Entry fee for the tournament
is $30.00 per hole (Adult) and $10.00 per hole (Youth-15 yrs old & younger). No refunds will be given out for any reason.
Prizes are the responsibility
of the winners. Licensing, registration, transportation, taxes and incidental
or consequential expenses incurred are the responsibility of the winners. Prizes
must be claimed within 30 days of notification.
All baitfish must be
4” or smaller. Any baitfish over 4” will not be allowed on the ice. All
baitfish will be checked in.
Coolers and large containers
are discouraged. No spears allowed. Heaters,
chairs, bait pails, and depth finders are allowed. Underwater cameras or video
equipment are not allowed. No licenses will be sold on the lake. Ice chisels are allowed. The use of augers is not allowed (holes will be pre drilled). Weighted
lines without hooks or bait can be used to check depth prior to 11:45 a.m. All participants will be asked to move to a plowed
road 15-minutes prior to the contest start so that contest officials can inspect all contest holes and surroundings. No lines are allowed
in the water from 11:45 a.m. to the start of the contest.
Failure to comply with any contest rules subjects contestants to disqualification and removal from the competition
site, as determined by contest officials. Right to refuse to sell and /or revoke
a competition ticket to anyone is herby reserved by the tournament officials. St.
Croix County Sheriff’s Department representatives will be on site at all times. ALL illegal activities will
be turned over to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department immediately.
